OUTREACH PROJECT INFORMATION
|
'Don’t Litter: Make It Glitter' was a short film made by the Ardoyne Young Women's Group with artist, Kerry Plummer and Shane Cullen, a local filmmaker. Focussing on an anti-litter theme, the group started several small projects including a billboard design for a competition run by Bryson House as well as experimenting with camcorders and interviewing techniques. The billboard was runner up in the competition and the group also documented the creation of the billboard. The group went on to make a short film about the horrors that could befall a young person who drops litter in the street. This film was merged with footage from the billboard workshops as well as a series of impromptu interviews initiated by the young women. … Do you think the litter in Ardoyne is a disgrace? … … Aye … shocking … there's rats and all … … Why do you think that is? … … There's not enough bins … … you're just being lazy … the council put bins all over the place … … If you had a lot of money, do you think you could solve this problem? … … I think the government should be sorting it out … Tony Blair … … I would buy more bins … … Wouldn't work … see in Ardoyne … bins get set on fire … |
